LEVENT YILMAZ (b. 1969) teaches intellectual history in Paris (EHESS) and in Istanbul (Koç University). He has translated into Turkish Yves Bonnefoy, W.B. Yeats and Petrarch. His most recent work is On Human Sociability (from Machiavelli to Vico) (forthcoming, Columbia University Press, 2019/2020).
"Yilmaz (whose last name means 'intrepid' and 'dauntless') stands apart from those from all of his countless predecessors in the twelve centuries of his nation's poetic tradition. It is safe to characterize him as the future of Turkish poetry, and Saturn as a testament to his creative imagination." — Talat Halman
