F.T. Prince was born in South Africa in 1912 and educated at Oxford and Princeton. He has travel widely in Europe and North America, served in British Army intelligence in the Middle East, he was a professor of English at the University of Southampton, and for ten years taught in Jamaica, the United States, and the Middle East. He lives in Southampton and summers in Minorca.
